Introduction To The Lange Saxonia Thin Ultra-thin Platinum Watch

At last year’s Geneva watch fair SIHH, Lange launched the SAXONIA THIN ultra-thin watch. This watch with a thickness of 5.9 mm and a movement thickness of only 2.9 mm refreshes the ultra-thin of the Saxony series recording. At the time, this exquisite ultra-thin watch was only available in rose gold, but at the 2012 SIHH, Lange added a platinum style to this watch.

The case diameter of SAXONIA THIN is 40 mm, which is very delicate and elegant. The silver-white dial made of solid silver is equipped with slender hour and minute hands, plus twelve exquisite rod-shaped hour markers, fully showing a minimalist style, and has strong German characteristics.

The Lange-made manual-winding movement L093.1 makes the watch’s lines more delicate. The dimensions of this movement are 28mm / 2.9mm. This is the thinnest movement made by Lange, consisting of 167 parts and 21 stones. With 72-hour power reserve function. With the balance spring developed by Lange, the vibration frequency of the shock-proof screw balance is maintained at 21600vph / 3Hz. The sun-patterned gear adorned with the winding wheel train, and three gold sleeves fixed by heated blue steel screws, also protrude on the splint, adding an elegance to the movement.
As always, this movement inherits every Lange’s traditional quality mark. It includes various parts mounted on the bottom of the 3/4 splint, and these parts are carefully modified by hand. The splint is made of untreated German silver and decorated with Glashütte diamonds. As early as 1864, Ferdinando & Middot; Adolf & Middot; Lange Ferdinand A. Lange created this splint, its shape can effectively stabilize the movement of the movement, while allowing the wearer to clearly see the hand-carved pendulum inside Wheel splint and pointerless oscillator.
