In fact, Monaco V4 was just a pure concept watch at the beginning of the publication, and there was no intention of a marketer. However, after publication, V4 swept through all watch awards, design awards, and professional media evaluations that year. Such a enthusiastic response finally made V4 Moved. From the concept table to the commercial product, there are a lot of things to be corrected. If the V4 of the early 2004 is compared with the current one, it looks like two watches except for the overall impression. In terms of actual structure, the first generation used 13 transmission belts. However, to this day, the editor still does not know how to look at this watch; the transmission belt is indeed a subversive design, but considering the cost, it is obvious that it cannot replace the traditional gear transmission, and even TAG HEUER itself should also It will only be used on a few limited tables, and the life of the transmission belt, warranty, and other issues will take some time to observe. However, the editor still likes the value symbolized by V4. It is the spirit of ‘Think Again’, which is the most important and lacking attitude of R & D.
Feature one: Belt-drive = drive belt
The so-called ‘Belt-drive = transmission belt’ is the core concept of V4; it is not the heart of the mechanical watch structure like the improvement of the escapement, but it is the principle established from the mechanical watch structure-the meshing between gears And rethink thoroughly. The rethinking actually refers to the transmission mode of the automobile engine; two gears are linked with one transmission belt instead of the direct meshing of the gear teeth. There is no problem of friction between the gears without direct contact, and the two gears located at the two ends of the base plate can also be linked by a transmission belt. The large-scale gears or multiple intermediate wheels are not needed, which makes the arrangement of the gear train more free.

Feature 2: Special rubber as thin as human hair
Of the five transmission belts of the V4, two are on the back of the case and are responsible for the power transmission from the winding mechanism to the barrel. Three are on the front and are responsible for the transmission between the wheels. The drive belts used in the two groups are not the same. The material of the transmission belt is Polyether Block Amide, which is a kind of rubber, but the elasticity, shock absorption and fatigue cycle are stronger than ordinary rubber; the diameter of the transmission belt is only 0.07mm, thinner than ordinary human hair, and the diameter is 0.05 in the middle. mm Micro Wire, to increase the strength of the belt.
Feature 3: linear winding mechanism and four barrels
The winding mechanism of the V4 is a 12-gram tungsten weight, which winds the mainspring in a linear motion between two pairs of barrels. This linear winding mechanism was indeed quite new at the beginning of its publication in 2004. However, the development period of V4 was too long, which caused Tourbillon Glissiere of HARRY WINSTON to be the first to be commercialized in 2007. The two pairs of barrels are independent, and each of the two barrels is connected to the two barrels with two transmission belts on the back of the case that are responsible for power transmission. Changing the position of the pulley with eccentric screws can adjust the tension of the transmission belt.
